The New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks is a long time summer tradition. Started in 1965, The New York Philharmonic has been playing a series of free outdoor (and indoor) concerts in various NYC parks in all the five boroughs, usually followed by a great fireworks show. Even if you are not a fan of classic music, Concerts in the Parks provides a great environment for a friendly picnic at the park, while listening to one of the top orchestras in the world. This year, the concerts will be held from July 9 and 15. All the outdoor concerts start at 8 PM, but if you want to sit near the stage it is recommended to arrive at least two hours earlier.
