10 Things to Do in NYC in Spring

Everybody loves New York City during spring, and for good reason, mainly because there’s no shortage of things to do no matter what your age. The following are some of the attractions you can get to experience during spring time in New York.

1. Tour the Brooklyn Brewery

The Williamsburg beer destination just expanded to the warehouse next door and that means visitors get to taste 12,000 more barrels of goodness and a change to learn more about the finer points of brewing. Entrance fees during Saturday and Sunday are free, so go there and take a tour of the place.

2. The Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum is a great place to take the family, especially if you have young kids. Families will find that there are plenty of fun activities that are tied to the current exhibitions at the museum. Visitors also get to watch traditional Japanese puppetry, along with Manga comic drawings that are displayed throughout the break.

3. New York Historical Society

The New York Historical Society offers quite a few activities of its own during spring. Visitors get to visit exhibits and activities for the Qingming Festival or ‘Ancestor’s Day’. Kids also get to participate in various activities such as kite making. A museum wide scavenger hunt is held throughout April and tells the story about the American Civil War.

4. Queens Botanical Garden

You can also get close to nature by visiting the Queens Botanical Gardens this spring. The activities are all botanically themed and inspired by nature. Tickets are affordable and the trip is definitely worth it.

5. New York Hall of Science

For kids between the ages of 3 and 4 the New York Hall of Science offers an Innovation Camp where children get to develop their wilderness skills while they explore various different environments, from deserts to polar regions. The Innovation Camp is a must visit if you have young kids and offers a safe way for kids to hone their survival skills.

6. The Tribeca Film Festival

From April 15 the Bow Tie Cinemas in Chelsea and other locations around New York host the Tribeca Film Festival. The event offers movie buffs the perfect way to watch dozens of movies and even spot their favorite stars too.

7. Five Boro Craft Beer Fest

Studio Square will be hosting the Five Boro Craft Beer Fest on May 1 for all those who want to unleash their inner beer geek. The event will give beer lovers the opportunity to taste a variety of beers and enjoy some great music as well.

8. Take a Stroll at the Brooklyn Heights Promenade

The stretch between the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge are one of those great spots where one could go for a stroll during Spring, enjoy the sun and smell the flowers the bloom along the walkway. Don’t forget to pause and take a look at the amazing skyline as well.

9. Visit the Home Team

Yankees fans get to enjoy the season’s opening games with kosher hot dogs and great beer. Apart from that, there are plenty to look forward too with many opening games throughout spring.

10. Take a Bike Ride

For those who prefer getting around the city on a bicycle, rather than on two feet or the subway, then check out the New Amsterdam Bike Show.
